God Our Model of Tactfulness and Discretion (In words and in deeds)

In Genesis – The sin of Adam (Genesis 3:9-19) God in His tactfulness asked a question, “Where are you?” (3:9). The question was not made to obtain information on their location. The question was designed with a purpose to draw him and his wife out of their hidden place rather than drive, expelled them out or to force them out from hiding.

As believers we should too be tactful on how we draw other people out, people who are in the same group or even the people who are outside our group. Practicing tactfulness and discretion will prove that our God is God and they will know that there is God.

“Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person” – Colossians 4:5-6
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask
of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
