No Greater Love for Jesus’ Friends

——-
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. – John 15:13
——-

What it means to be a friend of Jesus Christ? IF we do what Jesus command us to do then we are friends of Jesus, not just a normal friendship but an intimate, personal and close relationship with Jesus Christ… if not so then it would be difficult to for us to follow His commandments.
Obedience is the proof that we are intimate in the relationship with Jesus then we are true branch of the one true vine.

What are characteristics of the friend of Jesus:

1. JESUS’ FRIENDS LOVE EACH OTHER
John 15:12 – “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you”
A true believer doesn’t hate his brother. – 1 John 2:9-11

2. JESUS’ FRIENDS KNOW DIVINE TRUTH
John 15:15 – “No longer do I call you servants,[a] for the servant[b] does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
Because Jesus treat us not as slave (for slave do not know his master’s business) but friends, therefore He made known to us the divine truth He heard from the Father to us, because we are friends with Him. What is that truth? It’s the sacrificial love, that God gave up His Son, that Jesus laid down His life not only for His friends… while we were yet sinners. – Romans 5:8

3. JESUS’ FRIENDS ARE ESPECIALLY CHOSEN
John 15:16 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you”
John 15:19 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide”
We are all chosen to salvation and ordained to serve… we are chosen to GO and bear fruit… that is the great commission… so we are Jesus’ friend if we go and bear fruit and endure ’till the end.
Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

4. JESUS’ FRIENDS HAVE THEIR PRAYERS ANSWERED
John 15:19 – “so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
The friend of Jesus prays and God answers and the Bible yet says pray fervently, pray effectually, and pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

What about those who aren’t his friends?
Matthew 12:30 – “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
James 4:4 -“Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?”

PEACE & BLESSING!
